ByThe Courier Reporter
Work to build 22 new affordable houses on the site of a former holiday park in Cellardyke is expected to begin in the autumn, it emerged yesterday.
Councillors on Fife’s executive committee were told the new development just off Windmill Road should be finished by the spring of 2017 and will help the local authority meet its aim of delivering 2,700 new affordable houses across Fife by May of that year.
Twelve of the new properties will be one or two-bedroom cottage flats, with four two-bedroom and six three-bedroom general needs houses also planned for the site.
There are 50 applicants on the housing list for the area, with 28% having Cellardyke as their first choice.
