Dundee and Angus College student Higher results have outstripped the national pass rate.
The national, all centres, pass rate for 2015 was 75.4% with students from the Tayside institution achieving 77.2%.
College principal Grant Ritchie said he was pleased by the success rates.
He told The Courier: “We were delighted to see these figures.
“This not only pays testament to the quality of teaching at D&A College but illustrates how close we are to achieving our goal of being a sector- leading organisation.”
While chemistry proved the exam in which Dundee and Angus College students had the highest pass rate, at 91.7% against a national average of 75%, this year’s much-debated maths Higher also proved a rich seam of success with students achieving an 88.9% pass rate just shy of 16 points ahead of the national average of 73%. Other subjects in which the Tayside students achieved above the national average include sociology (84.2%), psychology (81.1%) and English (88.1%).
The number of D&A students achieving a Grade A pass also exceeded the national figure by more than four points 31.6% compared with 27.9%.
The Grade B pass rate was 25.8%, more than 6% above the national figure.
