Forfar boss not getting carried away with flying start

It won’t have escaped the attention of Forfar fans that their team is sitting proudly on the top of the League One table with a 100% record.
But veteran manager Dick Campbell isn’t getting carried away, particularly when their next match is one of the toughest fixtures of the season – Ayr United away.
“I’ve been saying for a wee while that I think our team this season is as good as last season’s, if not better,” Campbell said.
“But we’re not even out of August.
“And a game against Ayr at their ground is always a hard one.”
Campbell has brought in Andrew Black on loan from Dundee this week but he is hoping that isn’t the end of his transfer business.
He said: “We’re happy to have got Andrew. He can play at right back and wide right.
“I’m in for another couple of players as well.”
Kevin Nicoll is suspended, while Thomas O’Brien, Mark Baxter and Gavin Swankie are all injured. Danny Denholm is available.
Rab Douglas has a groin strain but Campbell is confident he will be able to play.
He added: “The boys did well against Hearts and with a bit of luck we could have won. But you’ve got to take your chances.
“We’ll lick our wounds and get on to the next game.”
