The Montrose players have discovered the winning habit.
And long may it continue, says Links Park boss Paul Hegarty.
The Gable Endies have registered back-to-back league wins over Arbroath and Clyde, scoring five and conceding none, and head to Annan looking for a League Two hat-trick.
And, even though the victory over Barry Ferguson’s men wasn’t the best football his team have ever played, it gave Hegarty great satisfaction.
“There’s nothing better than winning games,” he said.” And last week we had to grind one out.
“We missed a penalty and last season heads would maybe have gone down at that point.
“But the boys just shrugged their shoulders and got on with the game.
“Graham Webster scored a good goal, the boys worked extremely hard and they got their reward.
“In this league there’s so little between all the teams that it often comes down to who wants it most and who can hang in there when things aren’t going for you.
“If we can get three points, or even one, at Annan that will keep things going.
“We’re delighted to have a couple of wins under our belts. The players have set the standard and it’s up to them to maintain it.”
Paul Watson and Ross Campbell have knocks but haven’t been ruled out, while Hegarty is hoping to have “one or two signings in the pipeline”.
