Large-scale response to cooking pot fire

Seven emergency vehicles were dispatched to deal with a cooking pot on fire in Burntisland this morning.

Emergency call handlers initially believed someone was trapped in the property in Somerville Square.

Three fire engines, a height platform, two police cars and an ambulance were sent out.

However, the incident turned out to be far less serious than feared and the fire was put out and the premises ventilated within 20 minutes.
