Cowdenbeath are feeling a lot better about themselves after restoring their pride, manager Jimmy Nicholl insisted.
The Blue Brazil held visitors Rangers to a goalless draw last Saturday, just seven days after they had lost 10-0 at Hearts.
Nicholl said: “The boys went about their jobs really well against Rangers and not only did we keep a clean sheet we also threatened them on a good few occasions. I asked the boys to put in a performance that would have people looking at us differently and they did that.
“I had to make changes to the team including fielding virtually an entirely new midfield. It was not nice for some boys to hear about what my plans were but it had to be done.
“The impact was that not only did we restore some much needed pride we earned a point which moved us up to eighth place as a result of Alloa losing to Dumbarton.
“Last Saturday night felt a whole lot better than the Saturday night before.”
He added: “The Rangers game was a challenge and we face another huge challenge against Hibs. I watched their game against Livingston on Wednesday and they are a good side. “Not only did we win back some respect last weekend we actually increased our chances of staying in this division. It would be terrific if we could add to that again against Hibs.”
Former Hibs striker Colin Nish is suspended, Pat Scullion is a doubt and Sammy Stewart remains absent. However Colin Marshall and Jordan Halsman could both return after injury.
