St Johnstone likely to appeal Palestinian flag fine

St Johnstone are almost certainly going to appeal against an 18,000 euro fine handed down by Uefa.
The governing body imposed the penalty after a match delegate spotted a Palestinian flag being waved during the club’s Europa League tie at McDiarmid with Spartak Trnava on July 31.
There was also an allegation of pro-Palestinian chanting with Uefa rules prohibiting messages of a political or ideological nature in any football stadium.
Saints sent a second letter to Uefa last week asking for the reasons for the fine in writing, with a club spokesman saying last night: “We have now received an acknowledgement to our request for a written judgment.
“We are still awaiting that but in all likelihood we will be appealing against the fine.”
