Former police detective chief superintendent Norman Fraser

Perthshire man Norman Fraser who had a distinguished career in the Metropolitan Police has died at the age of 86.
Born in Pitlochry his family later moved to Blairgowrie and he went to the high school. Mr Fraser did his national service with the Royal Corps of Signals.
He joined the Metropolitan Police in the 1950s, spent only 18 months in uniform and rose to the rank of detective chief superintendent, serving with the CID and Scotland Yard.
Mr Fraser was a keen mason and was in a lodge and chapter and was awarded London Grand Rank.
He retired in the 1980s and returned to live in Ballinluig in 1996.
Mr Fraser is survived by his sister Annora and his sons Andrew and Ian and their families.
