The Steadings in Bennochy Road, which is run by Alan Finnegan, will now be open until 1am on Fridays and Saturdays. Fife Licensing Board granted the extension from the previous closing time of midnight despite objections from three residents. Lawyer Stephen McGowan gave an assurance that the outdoor area would not be used past 10pm. He said 70% of the pub’s turnover was from food sales. “This is a family-friendly local establishment,” he added. “When I see what Mr Finnegan has done to the premises, I’m left in no doubt that these are well-run premises.”
