St Johnstone fans have no need to panic about the delay in Stevie May signing a contract extension with the Perth club.
Top scorer May, who is on Scotland under-21 duty this week, reported: “My agent is working on it as we speak and we’re trying to get something sorted.
“It’s taking a little bit longer than planned but hopefully it’s going to get sorted as soon as possible.
“I’m happy to sign with St Johnstone again. I’ve no reason not to. The club has been good to me and I’m enjoying my football.
“Obviously I want to play here at the moment and playing every week I have no reason to change that.”
Though he’s happy just now at his home town club, the 21-year-old hopes one day to try his luck down south.
“Obviously long term I want to go down and play in England,” he said. “It’s a higher standard and everything just increases down there money, stadium and fans. Everything is just that bit better.
“Now, I’m as happy as can be and I’ve got no reason to do anything else but sign again for St Johnstone.”
