Sarah Webster and Amya Fitzpatrick from St Andrews wish they were the ones with a winning ticket.

It’s time to delve down the back of your sofa or empty out those handbags, for the countdown is on to make two Fifers millionaires.

Did you buy a EuroMillions lottery ticket on either Tuesday July 23 or Friday July 26?

If so. you may be the unsuspecting owner of a bumper bundle of cash a million pounds to be exact.

It would certainly be a very merry Christmas and a joyful New Year if your bank balance were to be boosted by several zeros.

But both millionaires may be in danger of missing out on their once-in-a-lifetime windfall, as they now have only a month to claim their cash.

The winners scooped £1 million each in the EuroMillions UK Millionaire Raffle just days apart, but have yet to claim their prizes.

Tickets bought in Fife for the July 23 and July 26 draws hit the jackpot along with one purchased in East Dunbartonshire.

Unless the lucky punters get in touch with the National Lottery in the next few weeks, their prizes will go to National Lottery good causes.

Players from Fife are again being urged to check their tickets to see if Santa won’t be the only one bringing them presents this Christmas.

Previous appeals for the winners to come forward have been unsuccessful.

The National Lottery said the winners were walking around not knowing of their good fortune.

Everyone was urged to check their bags, coat pockets, even down the back of the sofa and in their cupboards for the winning tickets

Each EuroMillions ticket automatically includes a UK Millionaire Raffle number for a twice-weekly prize of £1m.

For the July 23 draw, the lucky Fife number was BZP849967 and the claim deadline is January 19.

The July 26 raffle’s Fife prizewinner was CZZ474287 and the prize must be claimed by January 22.

Anyone who believes they have one of the winning tickets should call the National Lottery on 0845 910 0000.
