SPFL round-up: Allan Johnston stays optimistic despite defeat
ByThe Courier Reporter
Allan Johnston refused to be too downbeat after watching his Kilmarnock side lose for the first time in three games in the Highland capital on Saturday.
Goals in either half from Aaron Doran and Graeme Shinnie had Inverness 2-0 in front before Darren Barr gave Killie hope 14 minutes from time.
However, it was not enough to prevent Killie from slipping to a 2-1 defeat their seventh loss in 12 league outings.
He said: “You can see the quality the players have got with the way they came back into the game. They never let their heads go down.”
* St Mirren’s home clash with Ross county was abandoned after 51 minutes due to heavy downpours. The Buddies were two ahead at the time thanks to goals from Paul McGowan and Steven Thompson.
* Partick Thistle have an unchanged squad for the game againstAberdeen at Pittodrie tonight. The Dons will be without suspended defender Joe Shaughnessy.
