Forget Sochi, the eyes of the sporting world will be on Glenrothes this weekend as some of the leading lights in British darts descend on the town.
The Six Nations Cup, featuring top players from the home nations, Republic of Ireland and Netherlands, will take place at the CISWO on North Street and has already sold out.
However, for those still wishing to catch a glimpse of the action, the Saturday and Sunday sessions are set to be broadcast on Eurosport, providing some major international exposure for the town.
Davie Nelson from the CISWO said the event, which will see the ladies’ group matches start tonight, has allowed the club to invest in refurbishing the premises.
“This is the second time that we’ve hosted an event and we’re now well-established as a darts venue,” he said.
“The atmosphere is going to be great. We’ve got around 400 people attending each day and we’re now going to refurbish the whole place, which will cost around £150,000.”
