The owner of a stray duck discovered in Kirkcaldy is being sought by the Scottish SPCA.
Scotland’s animal welfare charity was alerted when a resident of Laburnum Drive found the bird in a wooded area behind the street on Saturday afternoon.
Now being looked after by the charity at one of its centres, it is thought the animal may have been kept as a pet.
Officer Robyn Gray said: “As he is a domestic duck, this would suggest someone has been keeping him as a pet. He may have escaped from home but it’s also possible he has been abandoned.
“Hopefully someone will recognise this duck so we can reunite him with his owner.”
However, if no one comes forward the Scottish SPCA will find him a permanent new home.
Anyone who recognises the duck is being asked to call the charity’s Edinburgh centre on 03000 999 999.
