Former St Johnstone and Dunfermline player, Martin Hardie, has pleaded guilty to stalking a former girlfriend for two years.
Hardie, 38, appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court to admit engaging in conduct which placed his victim, Kirsty MacLeod, in a state of fear or alarm between September 2012 to November last year.
The former midfielder admitted climbing up a drainpipe to spy on Miss MacLeod and repeatedly calling, texting and visiting her at Braehead shopping centre in Glasgow.
Hardie, of Clydebank, was released on bail and will be sentenced later this month.
The former midfielder was a favourite at Partick Thistle where fans affectionately nicknamed him “Mad Mental Martin Hardie” for his on-filed style and off-field antics.
He was a St Johnstone First Division title and Challenge Cup winner and also won the First Division with Dunfermline.
