Ryan Thomson secured a point for an understrength Pars side before claiming he will fire them into the Championship.
Hitman Thomson put the visitors ahead shortly after the break at sunny Somerset Park only for Alan Forrest to equalise a few minutes later.
Thomson, who was playing his second match after returning from injury, is one of the few fit strikers at the club and could be a key player in the play-offs.
He said: “I want to be the man to fire us up. I believe in myself and I know I can do it.
“I was out then came back and got injured again so I’m lacking a bit of match sharpness. It’s important to be fully fit going into the play-offs and the goal helps my confidence.
“If I keep training hard and working hard, I can be a good option for us.”
Thomson’s boss, Jim Jefferies, pointed out that nine of Saturday’s starting 11 began their careers at East End Park and the player added: “When we went through administration, it gave a lot of the younger boys a chance and most of them have taken it and been superb. Every negative is a positive.
“It’s been a while since Dunfermline have had a lot of youth come through so it shows we’re doing something right.”
After a goal-less first half, Thomson put the Pars ahead when he met a Ross Forbes corner with a firm header but the Honest Men were level when Michael Moffat’s shot struck the bar and Forrest netted the rebound.
Jefferies, though, was pleased to see a rotated side do so well and is also backing Thomson to fire Dunfermline up.
The Pars boss said: “It’s good he’s back because he’s had a hell of a time with injury. He gives us that presence we’ve not got otherwise and in the box he’s always a danger.”
Home boss Mark Roberts said: “It was a rollercoaster but an absolutely great game of football to be involved in.”
