A bodybuilder who smashed a woman’s jaw has been jailed for two years after being found guilty of stalking his terrified victim from his prison cell.
Burly Paul McLean continued bombarding Lynn Suttie with phone calls and letters for almost a year after being locked up in the wake of a brutal attack upon her.
A jury found McLean guilty of stalking his victim from behind bars at Perth prison and breaching an order not to harass Ms Suttie by contacting her repeatedly.
Perth Sheriff Court was told that McLean phoned from the prison numerous times and sent cards and poetry to Ms Suttie.
As well as being jailed, he was made the subject of a five-year non-harassment order.
Ms Suttie told the jury: “I was worried and scared. I did not want him to contact me.
“A letter came, addressed to the children. I opened it prior to showing them.
“It said it had come from A Hall at Perth prison. It worried me because I didn’t know what was inside it. It just made me feel intimidated, seeing it.”
McLean, 46, from Perth, was found guilty of engaging in a course of conduct which caused Ms Suttie fear or alarm between October 30 2014 and October 5 last year.
The jury also found him guilty of breaching the non-harassment order between the same dates by bombarding her with threatening and abusive material.
McLean was jailed in November 2013 for 26 months and made the subject of a non-harassment order preventing him “molesting” Ms Suttie for four years.
