The company to carry out the six-figure sum of work on the next phase of the restoring Stonehaven Clock Tower will be selected next week.
External work on the 18th-Century tower is now complete. Phase two of the works will be focused on the interior and the creation of a public display in the tower.
Kincardine and Mearns area committee will meet on Tuesday to select from a range of tenders for the work.
The lowest of the five tenders received was from Muirfield Contracts for £100,945. The cost will be met by the Six Key Areas for Development Key Area 1 and Historic Assets budget.
Community groups have been consulted on their views on what form the display will take. The second phase of the project is expected to be complete by late spring.
The clock tower was erected in the 1790s by public conscription on the instruction of the Magistrates of the Old Burgh of Barony. Its spire was added in 1827.
