‘Marry me?’ Lunan Bay beach proposal shows romance is alive and well in Angus
ByGraham Brown
The spirit of romance was alive and well in Angus at the weekend – and clear for beauty spot visitors to see.
At the popular coastal haunt of Lunan Bay, a sweetheart had painstakingly laid out a ‘Marry Me?’ message in planks and pebbles at the south end of the beach.
The identity of the proposer – and the answer to the question they posed on the foreshore – remains a mystery but one theory is that the message of love was spelled out large so as to be visible from the ruins of Red Castle overlooking the Lunan river inlet.
One regular dog walker said: “It wasn’t there on Friday night so it looks like someone’s taken the time to propose through the medium of planks and stones for a visit there on Saturday.”
Were you proposer or recipient of the marriage request, or do you know the intended?
We would love to let Courier readers know the (hopefully happy) outcome of the unusual proposal. Contact angus@thecourier or phone 01382 575895.
