Musicians club together to bring El Sistema project to Dundee

The bid to bring the El Sistema music project to Dundee was given a cash boost at the weekend.
Money raised at the Glenfarg Folk Feast, held near Perth, was handed over to Michael Marra’s widow, Peggy. The scheme gives underprivileged children access to music instruction as a means of improving their lives.
The late folk legend was backed by a host of high-profile figures in his campaign to bring it to the city.
Folk club treasurer Lesley Toner told The Courier: “Because Michael Marra performed at Glenfarg on numerous occasions, and it was a cause that mattered to him, we chose to do this in his memory.”
