A man who attacked a stranger with a comb in Dundee has been jailed.
David Gardyne slashed James Reid on the neck and chest on Clepington Road after mistaking him for another man on August 16.
Mr Reid was standing outside a shop when Gardyne walked up behind him and stabbed him in the neck and chest.
The attacker walked away after his victim picked up a rubbish bin and threw it at him.
Gardyne was then picked up by a car near the Clep Bar but one of the witnesses standing outside the pub noted the registration, which led to Gardyne being caught.
The 43-year-old was sentenced to six years in prison for attempted murder at the High Court in Edinburgh.
He has also been ordered to serve 160 days for another assault.
