The wedding of two of her closest friends brought Pippa Middleton and her boyfriend Nico Jackson to Perthshire at the weekend.
The Duchess of Cambridge’s 30-year-old sister was joined by the millionaire banker and her parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, at the event.
It brought together Rowena Macrae and Julian Osborne, who tied the knot in a ceremony attended by a number of society names.
Pippa is understood to have met the bride while attending cookery school The Grange, in Frome, Somerset, and the pair have remained close ever since.
The bride, who refused to let the rain dampen spirits on her big day, is the goddaughter of Brigadier Mel Jameson, Lord Lieutenant for Perth and Kinross.
Her family live on a Perthshire estate, at Trinity Gask House, where they declined to be drawn on the big day.
She is also a close friend of Prince William and Kate, though they were not present, having only recently completed a 10-day tour of Australia and New Zealand with baby son Prince George.
However, they are soon expected to make their first official visit to the area.
The couple became the Earl and Countess of Strathearn in 2011 as part of the long-standing tradition of giving new titles to members of the royal family on their wedding day.
They had last been used as royal titles in 1943 and there was delight in Crieff, at the heart of the area, when they were awarded by the Queen to her grandson and his bride.
Residents have been desperate to welcome the pair ever since and there has been intense speculation in recent months that they will pay a whistlestop visit to the area.
A date was even suggested locally that of May 29 though there appears to be no official source for such a date.
Kensington Palace has repeatedly declined to comment on any speculation, with plans for any royal visits traditionally confirmed less than a fortnight before for security reasons.
