Tributes have been paid to a motorcyclist from Dundee who died following a crash in the west Highlands.
Bob Morrison, 48, who was an engineer with Perth and Kinross Council, was travelling on the A82 near Glencoe when his Suzuki Bandit was in collision with a car on Saturday morning.
The father-of-two lived in Auchterhouse with his wife Diane, daughter Beth, 10, a pupil at Auchterhouse Primary, and son Robert, 15, who attends Monifieth High.
Originally from Dryburgh in Dundee, he is also survived by his parents Bob, 80, and Ivy, 79, two sisters and a brother.
Diane said: “A big, gentle giant, he was so thoughtful all the time about everything, which makes this so devastating.
“Perhaps I’ll never know the fine details, what happened at the last second, but they (the police) said they’ll take me to where it took place.
“Bob loved that run into Glencoe and when I get him back he’ll be buried at Auchterhouse. He’ll be close.”
Colleagues at Perth and Kinross Council are said to be “stunned and saddened” by Mr Morrison’s sudden death.
Jim Valentine, executive director for environment, said: “It is with great sadness that we learned of the death of Bob Morrison, engineer within the structures section of the roads department, who died suddenly at the weekend. It has left all of his colleagues and many friends at Perth and Kinross Council stunned and saddened.
“Bob joined the council in 2002 as one of our first graduate engineers, and worked his way up to become a chartered engineer and a valued member of the structures and flooding team.
“He has recently led and successfully completed a number of large roads projects and will be greatly missed. Our thoughts go out to Bob’s family, friends and colleagues at this very difficult time.”
Mr Morrison’s motorbike collided with a car at 11.05am on Saturday. He died at the scene and two people in the car were taken to Belford Hospital in Fort William with minor injuries.
Scottish Fire and Rescue Service crews used a hose reel to dampen the vehicles and the road was closed in both directions for several hours while police investigations were carried out.
A police spokeswoman said: “The male motorcyclist sustained serious injury and died at the locus. The two occupants of the car sustained minor injuries and were conveyed to Belford Hospital, Fort William, for treatment.
“Police would like to hear from anyone that witnessed the collision and have not been spoken to by officers. They should contact Police Scotland on 101.”
