A council binman was locked up on his birthday after attacking his partner for responding to a Facebook notification.
Graeme Beedie was concerned about who his partner, Donna Connaghan, was communicating with through the site.
And when she broke a promise to ignore any messages during his birthday celebration meal he flew into a rage, hurled abuse at her and shoved her over in the kitchen.
Beedie, South Inch Park, Perth, admitted causing fear and alarm by shouting and swearing and acting in a threatening or abusive manner at his home on June 20 this year.
He also admitted assaulting Ms Connaghan by pushing her on the body.
