Police are appealing for assistance in tracing a man involved in a Fife road accident in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Amar Sharif was last seen walking northwards towards Wormit after his Hyundai saloon car left the A92 near to the Five Roads Roundabout at around 3.30am.
No other vehicle was involved, however, it is not clear if the 43-year-old sustained any injuries and local officers are extremely keen to trace him as quickly as possible.
Mr Sharif is described as around 5ft 5ins tall, medium to stocky build with dark hair and stubble. He was wearing a black jacket with orange trousers and a white t-shirt.
Anyone who has seen him is asked to contact police immediately.
Sergeant Tony Doriano who is based in St Andrews police station said: “A search operation is now underway involving specialist teams including the dog unit in an effort to trace Amar safe and well.
“At this stage of our search, there is no evidence to suggest that Amar had suffered any serious injuries as a result of the collision however we won’t know that for sure until we find him.
“I appeal to anyone who knows Amar or may have travelled in the area of the Five Roads Roundabout and who may have seen him to please contact police.
“Similarly I appeal directly to Amar to contact us and to let us know you are okay.”
