The vehicles left the road and landed in a field by the Cowdenbeath exit on the eastbound carriageway, between Crossgates and Lochgelly. No one was hurt in the incident, which occurred at around 6pm on Wednesday. However, it caused lengthy tailbacks reported to stretch back to Dunfermline. Several emergency service vehicles rushed to the scene, including police cars, three fire engines and ambulances. Traffic Scotland reported that one lane was shut. Police confirmed the accident was not linked to a major armed robbery investigation in Kirkcaldy.
