Scottish pop star Eve Graham, formerly of 1970s supergroup The New Seekers, has suffered the sudden loss of her beloved husband Kevin Finn after 37 years of marriage.
Eve, 72, who had met musician Kevin, 70, when he joined The New Seekers in 1976, said he died at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee on Monday from a pulmonary embolism.
“For 15 years, Kevin had a condition called polycythemia, which causes blood to thicken and block arteries, and that had a bearing on what happened.
“Kevin was my soulmate. I don’t want to be without him and I’m frightened of being without him. But mostly now I feel he, and everyone who loved him, has been cheated of having him around for much longer.”
In 2003, in search of a healthier life, the couple sold their house in Norfolk and moved to Scotland where they settled in Eve’s native Perthshire. They recently moved to a cottage in Abernethy.
Kevin’s funeral will take place on Monday March 7 at St Ninian’s Cathedral, Perth.
Eve’s loss comes six weeks after the death of her former boyfriend, broadcaster Ed “Stewpot” Stewart, from a fatal stroke.
