A “disgusting” woman has been jailed after she assaulted a policewoman by throwing a soiled sanitary towel at her.
Nicola McPhee launched the attack after she was detained over an alleged stabbing. She was taken to cell 38 at Dundee police headquarters where a strip search was ordered.
McPhee took off her clothes then removed the sanitary towel and launched it at PC Erin Gunn, hitting her on the upper chest.
Sheriff Alistair Carmichael said McPhee would be jailed for seven months, but taking into account the time she has spent on remand that was reduced to one month and two weeks.
He said: “The procurator fiscal when questioning you described you as disgusting and I agree with that description.”
