Confusion surrounds the future of a legal high shop in Arbroath after closing down sale signs were put in the shop window.
Declaration at Brothock Bridge has been the subject of a community campaign against shops selling new psychoactive substances.
The Arbroath Against Legal Highs Facebook group has attracted just under 2,000 members on Facebook.
Earlier this year, another legal high shop in Arbroath, Misty Heaven on Fisheracre, closed shortly after a public protest.
Yesterday, an employee at Declaration said he had been asked to display the poster but had no further details about the shop’s future.
He said no legal highs had been reduced in price but he was in the process of cutting the prices of the shop’s bongs.
He added the poster had attracted a steady stream of customers during the day. There was no comment from the shop’s owner despite repeated attempts to contact him.
An employee at the High Life shop in Montrose, which is under the same management, said she had heard Declaration was to be turned into a shop selling e-cigarettes.
Declaration was recently the subject of a court case where a man robbed the shop two days in a row using a kitchen knife.
He demanded the shop’s products during the robbery instead of money.
Police Scotland Commander for Angus, Gordon Milne, wrote on Twitter: “Closing down sale sign seen in Arbroath shop window. Could this be some sort of Declaration?”
