A man has been accused of lying during a trial where a threat of murder by the Taliban was alleged.
Mohammed Arshid is alleged to have given false evidence during the trial of Mohammed Yasin at Dundee Sheriff Court in November 2010.
Yasin was accused of extortion after he allegedly took £5,000 from Zubaier Akhter by showing him pictures of men with guns and rocket launchers, pointing a gun at his head and threatening him and his family with death.
Yasin was later cleared of the charge by a jury.
Arshid now faces an allegation that he gave evidence that he had not leased a premises known as the Discovery Fish and Pizza Bar to a woman called Margaret Akhtar.
Prosecutors say the truth is that he had in fact entered into such a lease with Mrs Akhtar. Arshid, 57, Seaforth Road, Broughty Ferry, denies a charge on indictment of perjury.
Sheriff Alastair Brown set a trial date to run when the assize starts on March 31.
