ARBROATH COULD give ‘Doctor Goals’ Kenny Deuchar a route back into senior football after a gap of nearly two years after the 33-year-old joined Paul Sheerin’s side for training recently.
Deuchar, who is a qualified and practising doctor, scored over 120 goals in a career that started at Falkirk in 1999 and ended at Stenhousemuir in 2012, and had stops at East Fife, Gretna, Northampton Town, St Johnstone (twice), Real Salt Lake, Hamilton Accies, Falkirk for a second time and Livingston.
Red Lichties player-manager Sheerin played with Deuchar at St Johnstone and was happy to help out when he got in touch asking for training facilities.
Sheerin said: “Kenny has been in for three weeks now and is progressing well.
“There is nothing definite in the pipeline in terms of him coming back as a player and signing for us but you can never say never.
“He was a really good goalscorer and if he gets back to a level where he can play again it would be good to have him here.”
