Drink-driver was nearly twice limit morning after Rewind Festival

A bleary-eyed reveller ended up with more than a hangover after attending a retro music event.
Christopher Grant was caught by police carrying out spot checks after Rewind Festival at Scone Palace last month.
Perth Sheriff Court heard he was pulled over as he exited the grounds just before 9am on July 29.
As they spoke to him, the officers detected a “strong smell of alcohol” and carried out a roadside breath test.
The 39-year-old electrical contractor was found to be almost twice the legal limit.
Solicitor Mike Tavendale told the court an interim ban placed on Grant at an earlier appearance had been “fairly devastating” for his business.
He said: “He has been trying to get to a couple of jobs by bicycle and by taxi.
“It’s proving impractical and probably unsustainable, regarding the level of cost he will incur.”
Grant, of Troon Avenue, Dundee, admitted that on the A93 Perth to Blairgowrie road, near its junction with Stormont Road in Old Scone, he drove a vehicle with excess alcohol (66mics).
The legal limit is 35 mics.
He was fined £400 and disqualified from driving for 12 months.
