Raith Rovers will have on-loan full-back Callum Booth available to play in the Scottish Cup this Saturday despite opponents Hibernian being his parent club.
The 22-year-old was loaned to Rovers by former Hibs manager Pat Fenlon on a season-long loan in the summer and has already played in the Scottish Cup with Raith in the previous two rounds.
There were question marks over whether or not the defender, who was a member of the Hibs youth team that won a league and cup double in 2009, would be allowed to play in this weekend’s fifth round tie, but Rovers have now been assured that Booth can play against his signed club after all.
Despite that boost for Stark’s Park boss Grant Murray, though, Rovers will have to do without new signing John Baird for the trip to Easter Road.
The 28-year-old striker rejoined the Kirkcaldy club at the tail end of the transfer window and played in the 1-0 derby defeat to Cowdenbeath at the weekend.
However, he will be ineligible on Saturday after turning out for previous club Partick Thistle in the last round.
Baird replaced Thistle striker Kris Doolan with just 10 minutes remaining of their 1-0 loss to Aberdeen at Firhill in December and will, therefore, miss this weekend’s game in Edinburgh.
Meanwhile, Raith officials have confirmed that hospitality packages for the Ramsdens Cup final against Rangers on Sunday April 6 are now available.
There are two options for fans, priced £120 per person and £65 respectively, and more details are available from the club office at Stark’s Park.
