Woman admits using fake Latvian licence to deceive DVLA
ByThe Courier Reporter
A Brechin woman has admitted obtaining a driving licence by fraud.
Forfar Sheriff Court heard that Inga Smalko, 28, of Dumachlie Park, sent a fake Latvian driving licence with her application to the DVLA in Swansea, which led to a UK driving licence being issued in error.
She admitted using the licence between September 9 2011 and October 5 last year.
Defence agent Brian Bell described the case as a “serious and unusual matter”. He said he had advised his client that background reports would be required before sentencing.
Sheriff Simon Collins deferred sentence until November 5 for a social work report.
