Forfar captain Gavin Swankie to stay on for two more years
ByThe Courier Reporter
Forfar captain Gavin Swankie has accepted an offer from the Loons to extend his contract by two more years.
The former Dundee and St Johnstone striker will be a Station Park player until the spring of 2016 at the very least.
Not surprisingly Loons boss Dick Campbell and club officials were delighted by the news.
Swankie opted to join Forfar from Angus rivals Arbroath in June 2012 after a successful two-year spell with his home town club, winning the Third Division title in 2010-11.
Campbell is expected to hold talks with a few other players early in the new year with regard to extending their stay with the Station Park side.
The Forfar boss is also trying to convince Dale Hilson to extend his temporary transfer from Dundee United for the rest of the season, while he must also make decisions on the futures of Michael Dunlop and Bryan Deasley, currently on loan deals with Berwick Rangers and Montrose respectively that expire in the first week of 2014.
