Cameron McNeish to share trailblazing tales at Crieff event

One of the best-known mountain experts in Scotland will be paying a special visit to the Strathearn Community Library in Crieff next month.

In 2012 Cameron McNeish walked from Kirk Yetholm in the Borders to Cape Wrath, the most north-westerly point on the Scottish mainland, to create the Scottish National Trail.

The route was the subject of a two-hour television programme for BBC Scotland and the accompanying book was a best-seller.

His presentation at the library will include slides and video clips, and shares something of the route’s background and the story of its creation.

McNeish is an honorary fellow of the Royal Scottish Geographical Society and patron of Scottish Orienteering and Mountain Aid.

The event will be held at the Tryst, on Strathearn Community Campus, on Thursday February 5 and will begin at 7.30pm.

Tickets cost £8 and can be bought in advance from libraries throughout Perth and Kinross.
