Brechin boss Ray McKinnon has taken the shock decision to put Allan Walker and Stuart Anderson on the transfer list.
The former Raith Rovers players have only featured sporadically for City since signing in the summer, and the manager is keen to let them go so he can free up funds to bring in new additions to his squad.
Big things were expected of the duo, especially Walker, who had been a key performer and captain of the Stark’s Park Championship side.
However, he and Anderson have struggled to make an impact for the Angus part-timers, with McKinnon deciding it is best for all the parties involved that they find new clubs.
Another summer acquisition, former Airdrie striker Ryan Donnelly, is also leaving Brechin by mutual consent and has been linked with a move to Albion Rovers.
McKinnon said: “I am trying to bring two or three in to bolster the squad, but I need to free up some money. It looks like Ryan Donnelly will be leaving before the end of the week and I think he has another club lined up.
“It just hasn’t happened for him at Brechin, but he leaves with our best wishes.
“I have also decided to put Stuart Anderson and Allan Walker on the transfer list.”
