Teenage driver fighting for his life after flipping car in Aberdeenshire

A 19-year-old motorist is critically ill in hospital after his car overturned on a motorway sliproad.

The driver lost control of his Volkswagen Golf off the A90 near Portlethen, Aberdeenshire. He is being treated at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for life-threatening injuries.

Police have appealed for witnesses to the crash which occured at around 10.10pm on Wednesday.

The southbound carriageway on the A90 was closed as accident investigators attended the scene.
