The family of missing Allan Bryant Junior are to meet with police officials on Wednesday to discuss their concerns over the investigation in to his disappearance.
Members of Police Scotland’s professional standards department will travel to Glenrothes to meet with the Bryant family over claims that the force’s enquiry has been mishandled since he disappeared over two years ago.
His father, Allan Snr, told The Courier: “I want to find out why it took seven months for them to release CCTV footage from the night he went missing.
“A girl went missing in Glasgow last year and they had the footage out there the next day.
“Searches have been taking place for Allan and the first I’ve heard about it is when people mention it on our Facebook page.”
Allan Jr was 23 when he disappeared after a night out with friends on
November 3 2013.
He had been at Styx Nightclub on Caskieberran Road, with CCTV footage showing him leaving the venue in the early hours of the morning.
High-profile appeals have been made by both his family and the police, while searches have been conducted throughout the town.
There is still no trace of Allan Jr, who would now be 25.
Last month Mr Bryant confirmed that he had formally reported the investigation team to PoliceScotland’s professional standards department.
He has repeatedly criticised the force over its efforts to find out what happened to his son, claiming that large parts of the enquiry have been mishandled.
“I know it won’t help to find Allan but I want the police to acknowledge that they have made mistakes,” he added.
Police Scotland has previously stated that the search for Allan Bryant Jr is the largest missing person hunt ever conducted within Fife.
