A man has been charged with assault with intent to rob over an Arbroath incident which led to part of the town being cordoned off on Friday night.
Police swooped on the railway station in Keptie Street shortly after 6.30pm following reports of a disturbance.
Specialist officers, including police dog handlers, were brought in as part of a significant emergency response and the inquiry resulted in some local licensed premises being told to lock their doors.
Streets in the vicinity of Robert Street, adjacent to the railway station, were also cordoned off.
It was later confirmed that a man had been detained in connection with the alleged disturbance and a Police Scotland spokesperson said a male had been arrested and charged with assault with intent to rob.
It has not been confirmed if the man will appear in court from custody today or at a later date.
A Scotrail spokeswoman said train services were not affected by the incident.
