Five people have been taken to hospital after a motorway collision.
One woman had to be cut from her car following the four-vehicle smash on the northbound carriageway of the M74 in Glasgow.
The accident happened at about 9.40am on Tuesday at junction 1A Polmadie.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said three other women and a man were able to release themselves from their vehicles.
All five were treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to the city’s Victoria Infirmary.
Incident commander Francis Nicol said: “Our crews used hydraulic rescue equipment to remove the central post of the car with the casualty inside. This created the space needed to safely release her.
“She received trauma care from paramedics and firefighters throughout the operation, and our police colleagues had closed the carriageway to ensure the safety of everyone involved.”
