Motorists facing disruption in Fife as A92 to partially close between Glenrothes and Kirkcaldy

Motorists in Fife can expect major disruption this weekend as one of the region’s busiest stretches of road is closed.
The A92 between the Bankhead Roundabout in Glenrothes and Redhouse Roundabout in Kirkcaldy will close southbound from 7.30pm on Friday and reopen at 6.30am on Monday to allow for resurfacing work.
The stretch is used by over 16,000 vehicles every day with this £330,000 project following on from a series of improvements made to the stretch in the autumn.
Work will take place 24 hours a day, however, should adverse weather strike then the work will be rescheduled, contractor Bear Scotland has confirmed.
During the closure, all vehicles heading south will be diverted off the A92 at Bankhead Roundabout and then diverted via the B921, towards Kinglassie, through Cluny, before rejoining the A92 at Chapel.
Andy Thompson from BEAR Scotland said: “These works will repair a number of cracks, potholes and other issues.”
