A protective brother knocked a 43-year-old man out with a single punch after he made comments about his teenage sister’s bottom.
Shane Taylor, 23, took offence to complimentary remarks that William Crook made about his 19-year-old sibling’s posterior outside The Loft nightclub in South Street, Perth.
The punch he threw was of such a force it knocked Mr Crook unconscious and he had to be taken to hospital for checks.
At Perth Sheriff Court, Taylor of the city’s Bracken Brae, admitted the assault on November 22 last year.
Depute fiscal Stuart Richardson told the court: “It was 3.15 am, at closing time for the nightclub. Mr Crook was standing outside on the pavement.
“Mr Taylor punched him once, but that had the effect of knocking him to the ground and he momentarily lost consciousness.
“He was apprehended at the scene.
“His reply to the charge maybe gives a reason for the attack.”
At the time of the incident Taylor told police: “He touched my sister’s a*** and I knocked him the f*** out.”
Solicitor David Holmes, defending, said: “His sister is 19 and was also in The Loft, the same establishment as Mr Crook.
“She saw Mr Crook and he was passing remark in favourable terms about her appearance from behind.
“It was not in the politest terms and Mr Taylor was offended by it and struck him once.
“His sister is younger than him and he felt protective towards her.”
Sheriff Lindsay Foulis fined Taylor £400.
