ByThe Courier Reporter
Fife man Gordon McKay remains in custody while the Crown consider an appeal against bail.
The 36-year-old has appeared at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on a charge of murder in connection with the death of baby Hayley Davidson.
Mckay, of Buckhaven, made no plea or declaration.
He was fully committed and bailed, however he remains remanded in custody pending Crown consideration of an appeal against bail.
His next court appearance is to be confirmed.
Police rushed to a house on Buckhaven’s West High Street on Sunday February 14 following reports of concern for a child.
That day Hayley, who lived with her mother Catherine and two older sisters in the Fife town, was taken to the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh where, under the care of medics there, she fought for life.
In a statement released by her family through Police Scotland they called her a “beautiful baby girl who was loved by everyone who met her”.
They asked to be left alone to grieve.
The community in Buckhaven has expressed its shock and paid tribute to Hayley.
