An Angus man escaped a lengthy ban after he was caught driving at 107mph on the A90 dual carriageway.
Daniel Banister, 26 of South Lodge, Brechin Castle, previously admitted driving near the road’s junction with Moatmill while 37mph over the speed limit.
Depute fiscal Jill Drummond said: “Around 7.26pm on the evening of August 24, two officers were carrying out laser speed checks on the A90.
“They saw a car that looked to be travelling in excess of the speed limit, pointed the laser at it and it clocked 107mph, which was stored in the device.”
Banister had three passengers in the car and made no comment or reply when he was cautioned and charged. His defence agent Bob Bruce said Banister had been driving for nine years “without blemish”.
Visiting sheriff Marion MacDonald banned Banister from driving for two months and fined him £200.
