A Fife man with “the most appalling record” was causing trouble within hours of being released from jail.
George McKenna caused a disturbance at a family gathering arranged so that he could see his baby daughter.
McKenna is currently in prison for another domestic incident and had additional jail time added when he appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
McKenna, 26, of Hope Street, Lumphinnans, admitted that on December 30 in Hope Street he behaved in a threatening or abusive manner by shouting, swearing and struggling with Amy Bowers, his former partner.
He also admitted that on January 1 at Union Street, Cowdenbeath, he behaved in a threatening or abusive manner by shouting, swearing and demanding entry to her home.
Depute fiscal Azrah Yousaf said: “On the day he was released from prison there was an arrangement that he would meet with his ex-partner who would bring their daughter.
“The accused attended but there was an argument throughout the day.
The accused was wanting them to make a fresh start but she made it clear that would not happen.
“At around 3.30pm the complainer called for a taxi. He took umbrage to this and started struggling with her. She did manage to leave and went home.”
The fiscal depute said there was then an arrangement that McKenna would visit his former partner on January 3 to see his daughter but he turned up two days early on New Year’s day.
He had been allowed in but there was another argument and when he left he was shouting and swearing outside her home, demanding to get back in.
Sheriff Charles MacNair told McKenna: “You have the most appalling record of violence.”
He imposed a jail term of 68 days to run consecutively to his current sentence.
