A Dundee 21-year-old has appeared in court accused of attempting to murder two men by driving a car at them.
Colin Simpson, no fixed abode, allegedly assaulted Kyle Bates and Kyle McCluskie by driving a car at speed directly towards them, mounting the pavement causing Mr McCluskie to take evasive action to avoid being struck by the vehicle.
It is further alleged that Simpson struck Mr Bates with the car causing him to be thrown into the air, severely injuring him.
The alleged offence is said to have taken place in Balgarthno Road on February 20.
Simpson faces a separate charge of behaving in a threatening and abusive manner in Balgarthno Road on February 21.
He made no plea or declaration during a private hearing before Sheriff George Way this afternoon and was remanded in custody.
