A man’s body has been washed up on the Mearns coast following the search for a missing angler.
The discovery was made in the St Cyrus area at 9.30am on Friday following a five-day search for Fife man Fraser Carrington.
Police are on the scene and it is believed the body is that of the missing 32-year-old, who was last seen around the seafront on Saturday.
He went night fishing on the coast at the fishing community of Tangle-Ha, to the north of St Cyrus, when he disappeared.
Searches led by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency were made on Sunday and Thursday.
Mr Carrington, an experienced angler, was reported missing by another angler at 3am on Sunday.
Mr Carrington, who is married with a family, has fished since his teens and is understood to have been a member of East Fife Shore Angling Club in the past.
