Spinal cord knife attack victim jailed for carrying a cleaver
ByThe Courier Reporter
A man left close to death in a horrific knife attack that partially severed his spinal cord has been jailed for carrying a blade twice in a week.
Drew Duncan was left with fluid leaking from his brain following an attack on him in the middle of a busy retail park in 2002, but that did not put him off carrying a meat cleaver on two occasions in May this year.
Duncan, 43, a prisoner at HMP Perth, pleaded guilty on indictment to charges of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner on May 6, and carrying a meat cleaver on May 16 and May 20. Duncan further admitted a charge of assault to injury on July 25 last year and was jailed for 14 months.
