Colourful characters light up another great Broughty Ferry Dook

Around 300 people, many of them in fancy dress, braved the Broughty Ferry New Year Dook despite an extremely high tide and near-freezing temperature.
Thanks to the rain, those huddled around to spectate gained some sense of how it must have felt for the dookers as they filed in for a brief swim before emerging to wrap themselves in towels.Photo gallery: Broughty Ferry DookThe costumes on display were the usual wacky mix, featuring everything from Santa and an elf to a fair few men in dresses, including what appeared to be a fairy princess.
